Mumblefish has been asked back to Grotonfest for the second year in a row. We had a great time last year, and we can’t wait to rock the Groton Town Common again. It’s a great time for the entire family, and the whole day is filled with activities, music, and fun.
Come on down for a wonderful time with friends, neighbors, and Mumblefish!
Here are some photos from Grotonfest ’09 held this past Saturday, October 11th. A special thanks to Rob Cutts for filling in for Tom Powers.
Hello Mumblefish Fans (and we need to come up with a shorter word for our fans – how about Mumblers?),
Here are a couple of news items we wanted to get out to everyone:
First, a BIG apology to Richard Buck, drummer extraordinaire. In the Lowell Sun Stepping Out article about Mumblefish at Grotonfest, the picture they used was an old photo with our former drummer. This was obviously a big mistake, and we corrected it on our website ASAP. It was a goof on our part, and we apologize BIG TIME to Richard.
- Second, Mumblefish is featured in this week’s Groton Herald newspaper. Unfortunately, they don’t have a website, but you can see our black-and-white photo with logo and website URL (and Richard Buck, drummer extraordinaire!) on the front page. Check it out!
- And finally, because the Grotonfest was moved to Saturday, October 10th (rain date of Sunday, October 11th), and lead singer Tom Powers is going to be out of town, we have a guest singer for Grotonfest next weekend. Rob Cutts, the lead singer for Another Round out of Westford, MA will be handling the lead vocals for Grotonfest. Here’s a quick bio on Rob:
Rob is the lead singer, acoustic rhythm guitar, and harp player for Another Round out of Westford. He had been playing/singing solo performances for about 15years before joining Another Round in September of 2008. Another Round’s next gig is at the Franco American Club, Westford on Friday October 30th at 7:00 pm. The event is a Halloween Costume Party Fundraiser to benefit the Lucien Menard Scholarship Fund, and features 2 live bands: Cabin Fever and Another Round.
UPDATE: The Lowell Sun story was picked up by The California Chronicle. Not sure why, but it’s pretty cool to see Mumblefish mentioned all the way out on the West Coast.
Mumblefish is in today’s edition of the Lowell Sun on the Steppin’ Out page! The story, which is about the upcoming Grotonfest, features quotes from both Tom and Steve. Here’s a quick excerpt:
Tom Powers, the lead singer of Mumblefish, is ready to rock the crowd.
“We have a pretty large and wide repertoire. It’s very diverse with blues and straight out rock ‘n’ roll. We’ll pull out the acoustic guitar, do some soft dance stuff and some funky music, too,” he said.
You can check out the story by clicking the link above. And, don’t forget to join us at Grotonfest on October 3rd. We’re scheduled to go on some time between 4:00 and 5:00 pm, so make sure you get there early.
Hope to see you there!
